The Australian government has made strides to give owners a home insulation rebate to eligible homes. To be considered eligible, you must have a house that does not meet proper levels of ceiling and roofing insulation. By doing this, you can save considerably on the cost of your electric bill.

This rebate program has been in effect since July of 2009, and it has allowed home owners to get this done, often with no cost to them. There is enough money to cover 2.2 million homes, so you do need to take advantage of this while you can.

One of the main benefit is the reduction in the use of electricity, which can help reduce your costs up to seven hundred dollars every year. This gives you the right kind of insulation which helps keep energy in. It also has the added benefit of making your home more comfortable to you.

There is a pre-qualification screening, and certified installers must give you a quote before work can begin. These installers can also be able to help you fill out the necessary paperwork. Once this is been completed, and you qualify, they will begin the installation process.

The government offers up to $1600 in rebates, which is more then enough to cover the average home. If you are told it is more then this, you will have to pay for it out of your own pocket, but you will still get the rebate to offset the costs. If you have taken advantage of the hot water rebate, you are not able to get this one, since they allow only one of these under the program.

Because the government is paying for the home installation rebate, this can make renovating your home affordable, and for many free. You do need to hurry and accept this offer before the rebates have been used and you are unable to take part of this program.
